The Proposal

Over at Kelly's Corner this week they are talking about proposal stories so I thought I would share with all of you how Adam proposed to me. After we finished dinner, which Adam cooked himself, he brought out three gifts for me to open. One bag said past, one bag said present, and one bag said future. He told me to open the bags in order from past to future. I opened the first bag and inside was a build a bear dressed like a cheerleader. I was a cheerleader in high school and Adam and I started dating in high school. Also in the bag was the dvd 50 First Dates. Then, I went to the bag that said present. I opened it up and inside was a build a bear dressed in an outfit like I would wear at that time. Last, I opened the bag that said future and inside was a bride and a groom build a bear with their birth certificates that said our names only mine had his last name. Adam got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes! Also in the last bag he had included bridal magazines so I could start planning. We called all of our family and friends to share the awesome news. It was really romantic and I will never forget it.

Our New House

As I have said in a previous post, Adam and I purchased a home in Newburgh, Indiana in September. It has taken me forever to get some pictures posted of our house, but I guess better late than never. So here it is!

This is the front of our house

This is our kitchen

This is our dining area

These are both of our living room

This is our guest bathroom

This is one of our guest bedrooms, we call it "the purple room"

This is our other guest bedroom, we call it "the blue room"

These are both of our master bathroom

These are all of our master bedroom

We also have a bonus room above our garage that Adam has decorated with St. Louis Cardinals Memorbillia. It has a huge sectional so that he can sit up there and watch sports. It is not completely finished so I will save those pictures for another time.

Let it Snow!

I am not a huge fan of winter. I absolutely hate it when it gets really cold outside, however, when it gets as cold as it has been lately then I think that it needs to snow. If we are going to be freezing to death anyways we need to be able to enjoy the pretty snow and even go play in it if we want to. I was very happy to wake up this morning to see my yard covered in snow! Bring it on!

UPDATE

I have been doing a terrible job of keeping up with my blog so I thought that I would take some time to let you all know what has been going on in my life. Adam and I are nearing six months of marriage! I love being married, it is like having a slumber party with your best friend every night!
The big news in our life is that in September we purchased our first home. We live in a cute neighborhood in Newburgh(five minutes from Evansville) We absolutely love our home and we think it is in the perfect spot. We are only about two minutes from Evansville one way and downtown Newburgh the other way, but our neighborhood is out of the city so it feels more like the neighborhood I grew up in.
As most of you know I graduated in May with a degree in Elementary Education, however, was not able to get a job teaching this year. In all of the 30 elementary schools in Evansville, there were only 3 elementary openings:( So I am currently working as a nanny for 3 month old triplets!!!! They were eleven weeks early so they are more like the size of newborns. It definately keeps me busy and on my toes at all time. When I first started the job the babies were all on monitors due to them being premature. I understand why babies in these circumstances come home with monitors, so that the parents can have peace of mind that if their babies are okay, however, they were also a total pain. The way the monitors worked was that there were sticky electrodes that were connected to the babies in two places on their chest. Sticky things do not always stay sticky for long and when the stick wore off the electrodes would constantly fall off causing a deafening alarm. Then we would have to disturb the babies to get the electrodes back on them to stop the alarm. Imagine three screaming babies and three monitor alarms going off all at the same time. Well, that was my life for a few weeks. I was very relieved when I came to work one Monday and the mother said to me that they took the monitors of and they weren't putting them back on. Without the monitors there are still hectic times, but not nearly as many!!!
I am still coaching cheerleading a FJ Reitz high school in Evansville (4A Football State Champs this year!!!). I love my girls this year and will be sad when the season is over. They are a really talented group of girls with bright futures ahead of them!
Sorry to ramble on, but I haven't written for so long so I had a lot to say. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and has a happy new year!
